I'm an Air Force veteran, a husband, a father, an Elder and the Worship Leader at my church, a musician, and an AV Systems Design Engineer. I've served in the Montgomery County Republican Party for 20 years with three different County Chairs. Montgomery County needs a thriving Republican Party to keep our republican voters informed and engaged. Under the current chair, Gwen Withrow, we simply don't have that. Our local republican party is bitterly divided and the election results are already showing the impact of her groups' divisive policies. In her first general election, turnout went down as a percentage of voters. We need a strong Montgomery County Republican Party to get out the vote for every election to keep Texas Republican Red. Instead, Chair Withrow conspires with a small group of political insiders here in Montgomery County and in Austin to shut out the republican voters and remove candidates the insiders don't like. They want to close the primary elections and enforce a new registration process for Republicans to be able to vote in the primaries, including vetting every republican voter.

Gwen and her insiders have weaponized the party against their political opponents by using convoluted rules and procedures that are so difficult to follow, even they routinely break them. Earlier this year she and her insiders tried and failed in their attempt to censure and remove two of our own Montgomery County Republican Reps. Metcalf and Bell from the Republican Primary Ballot. I was part of making sure their efforts failed. The County Chair and her party insiders have made it clear they don't trust the voters, 'We The People', to decide for ourselves.

I believe in the American way of open elections, transparency, accountability, and limited government. I believe that the Republican Party is the republican voters, and that 'We The People' should choose our candidates, not party insiders. I want to make the rules simple and easy to understand. I want to engage and inform you, the voters, so that you can make your own choices on candidates and ballot propositions. That's how we became the most Republican county in Texas, and that's what I believe we need to return to.
